Philadelphia, July 2, 2012, Day 3. Matt Taibbi visits the Occupy National Gathering to break down the LIBOR scandal just after the story begins to break. After giving a quick speech, he sits down with a couple dozen occupiers for some Q&A. Thank you Matt! <3
Philadelphia, July 2, 2012, Day 3. One of our occu-brothers, Amadon DellErba, gives a speech on Spiritualution.org. Many things discussed about community living resonated greatly with me from my last five months living on an occupied organic farm in Sacramento, CA.
Philadelphia, July 1, 2012, Day 2. The Gathering’s first major march, focused on the looming student debt bubble. While the police largely allowed us to temporarily take over various streets, they block us at the end of a bridge we attempted to cross. We eventually decide to turn around to avoid risking arrest, but hopefully educated the police a bit.
A few thoughts for my brothers and sisters from Wiki World Order…
I know it’s tough to march pass the Federal Reserve without protesting it. It and the New World Order ARE tied in with almost every issue, but the public cannot easily connect those dots, and our messaging is already difficult enough. Please get more clever if you want to bring these layers to a single-issue march.
Our system IS one of indentured servitude. Education IS a right, BUT we do not need indoctrination programs to get it. We should not need expensive certificates of completion to find ways to contribute to our world. We do not need money to educate ourselves. Autodidacticism and critical thinking is all we need. Since the city of Philadelphia has relatively lax laws for sleeping in the sidewalks, dozens of Occupiers would hold “Sleepful Protests” each night in front of different banks. The general idea was to raise awareness about the criminal big banks, foreclosures, and the homeless. It was my first time ever sleeping on city sidewalks, but surrounded by my beautiful brothers and sisters it felt wonderful. <3
Philadelphia, June 30, 2012, Day 1. We have unexpected police interaction, forcing us to make a group decision on tactics to be used the first night. It was a bit of a bumpy start to the week, but we eventually decide we did not intend to have a major police confrontation yet.
Philadelphia, June 30, 2012, Day 1. Introductory speeches to five-day event, and trainings on how to work within a big Occupy crowd during direct actions and other situations we might find ourselves in.
As video uploading proves slow from the streets, here are some portraits of some of the beautiful brothers and sisters I’ve met here for this historic event in Philadelphia. These are some attempts at capturing the beauty surrounding me with my amateur photography skills or lack thereof. I Love You All SO Much Extra! <3
